A lot of creative cheerleading fundraising ideas exist to help out your squad this year. If your cheerleading squad comes up a little short on funds. These ideas include sure fire money makers like yard sales, bake sales and car washes.

Your cheerleading squad may require funds for any number of reasons - travel to sporting events, promotional items for the crowd at that big pep rally and new uniforms for the squad. Being low on cash can really put a lid on the team spirit you can give to the home crowd and of course, it also limits the fun of events.

A great fundraiser for your cheerleading squad is to have a bake sale. Each cheerleader can bake something different to bring to the sale; cookies, pie, cake or their own specialty. You can then sell these baked goods to raise money for your squad. Bake sales tend to do very well - after all, it's hard to resist fresh baked treats. If you have your bake sale at a sporting event, it is sure to be a hit.

Another great idea for a fundraiser for your cheerleading squad is to hold a yard sale. This type of event needs to have support and assistance of adults to be successful. The squad can get their parents and other people to donate items for a yard sale that they have lying around their house.

In your own neighborhood there is probably a gold mine of items sitting around unused in people's garages and attics. You can help them clear out these things and raise money for your cheerleading squad at the same time.

If you have a lot of people donate items then you will need to have a big enough location to hold the sale or the event. The school might let you use the auditorium. You also might consider the school parking lot or a field. You also might have someone on your team that has a big driveway or yard at their home and willing to let you use the property for the sale. When the sale is over you also have to consider what will happen to all of the things that don't sell. You cannot just leave them on the premises and you have to find a place for them. You should find someone with a truck who is willing to help you get the items to the nearest Goodwill or place that you can donate them to.

A carwash can be a great fundraiser for your cheerleading squad too. Ask local gas stations; many will be happy to let you use their parking lot and hose hookups for a good cause. All you will need is plenty of soap, hoses and some willing volunteers to hold signs and wash cars for your fundraiser.

There are many ways you can earn money for your cheerleading squad if funds are low for your program this year. You just have to be creative in your thinking.
