There is no shortage of ways to come up with a great fundraising idea. These methods include talking to charities and non profit organizations, searching online and of course, the members of your own group can be a valuable source of information. You should definitely begin at home, by talking to the people in your own group. Try getting everyone together, perhaps when you have one of your regular organizational meetings. If you put all of your heads together, you are sure to come up with some great novel fundraising ideas. Your fellow group members may have some skills which may prove useful for a fundraiser, or own a business whose product or service can be sold as part of a fundraising event. These group meetings are a great way to brainstorm ideas for a fundraiser - and when everyone has worked together on a plan, each member will feel a sense of ownership towards the fundraising idea. After agreeing on a plan, the work of setting everything up can be divided amongst the group. Another way you can come up with ideas for fundraisers is by looking on the Internet. There are many fundraising sites that have excellent ideas. You can find ways to hold fundraisers that won't cost you a dime if you don't have any money to spend in your efforts of the fundraiser. Some people have money to buy products and make creative things for an arts and crafts fair but if you don't have any money then the Internet would be your best resource for finding fundraisers that won't cost you anything. Asking other charities is an excellent method of finding fundraising ideas for your group. Many charities choose to hold sporting events such as golf tournaments to raise money. These can bring in a lot of money; and organizations that have held successful fundraisers are often willing to share what they have learned from their experience. Your own local newspaper may also be a good source of fundraising ideas. If there are organizations in your area holding fundraisers, think about how they went about their own fundraiser - it may be a viable option for your group as well. It's OK to use the same sort of fundraiser as another group - these events are not copyrighted. There are many different types of fundraisers people do to make money. One of the most successful fundraisers is a gold tournament. This usually requires a golf course to allow you to hold the event and then they will offer the golfers a discounted rate to people and then the extra monies will go toward the benefit of the cause. You can have people golf to win a trophy and have a fee they have to pay to join the tournament. These are usually very successful but require a lot of planning. If you cannot think of a way to hold a fundraiser then there are many ways you can come up with ideas. Many of these ways include talking to other charitable organizations, using the Internet, and holding a meeting to discuss ideas that people in your group might have.
