Finding medical insurance in the state of Kentucky os not difficult. There are numerous options to be found. Not one person should choose to go uninsured! With just a little searching you can find a goo option for you. There are about 12% of Kentucky residents that choose to go uninsured. This number is unnecessary! There are many reason to have insurance. Without it you are taking a big financial risk. And studies show that those that are uninsured do not get the health care the need. The most obvious choice is employer sponsored group health insurance. If your employer offers this option and you have a pre existing condition it is sometimes your best option since they must cover every member of the group, no matter their health history. The disadvantage is you do not get to choose your carrier or benefit package. And if your employer does not share the cost it is very expensive. If group insurance is not an option or you need something more affordable for you or your dependents you can check out individual health insurance. Individual insurance is offered by most carriers. This option allows you freedom to choose benefit packages based on you rneeds and budget. The disadvantage is that they can decline or put limitations on pre exisiting health conditions. If you are declined there is another option however. Kentucky has a state risk pool, or Kentucky Access as they call it. This program makes health insurance available to those who would otherwise be declined coverage due to a health condition. Kentucky also finds it imporatant to make sure children have health insurance coverage. The have the KCHIP (Kentucky Children's Health Insurance Program). This plan gives low income families a choice for helath insurance for children under 18. Do not let any rock left unturned. If none of these options work for you seek out the help of the Kentucky Department of Medicaid Services. They have government funded options that you may qualify for. Qualifiying residents will get needed health insurance as well as other public assistance. No matter the reason you should not go uninsured. What you risk is just too valuable. As you can see there are many options available. Just take a little time to decide and find what works for you and make the choice to have health insurance. It is the right choice!
