Your clean driving record is imperative because if you have a poor drivers record because of to many traffic tickets will probably end up with extremely high automobile insurance rates and even loss of your drivers license which will almost always make life difficult. To keep your driving record clean will help you to pay less in fines and keep your car insurance as cheap as it currently is right now.

One of the best ways of trying to preserve your driving history is when pulled over. Being nice and not having an attitude with the law officer, even if you are annoyed, will help to get you off with a verbal warning and not the dreaded traffic ticket. Because as everyone is aware of, a warning doesn't go against your driving history.

Do parking fines go on your history?

It is best to check with the county in which you received the parking ticket to find out. But in the vast majority of areas it won't go onto your history. Get unpaid parking tickets taken care of and they should not be on your driving history.

How long will a parking ticket stay on my record?

This will vary from place to place, but a ticket can last on a record for up to seven years. Even a ticket or two per year can put you at risk of losing your driving privileges.

How to keep traffic tickets off your driving record and ways to guard your points.

Of course driving safely and obeying the laws of the road will keep your driving record clean. Sometimes you may end up with a ticket. There are a couple of strategies.

First of all fighting the ticket in court can't add to the points of your infraction. At best the violation is dismissed entirely. Or it might be reduced to a lesser violation. At worst you are found guilty of the infraction. It is a no lose option to go to court to try and get your infraction either reduced or taken care of altogether.

Also if it comes down to it and you do have to pay for the citation ask the judge if you can go to traffic school. This can actually be the punishment for the citation and will keep your driving history point free.
