Students, with their specific time-frame generate the biggest turn-over rate. They move out right after college and then a new batch of freshmen settle in. Workers on the other hand, differ from each other. Some stay for a short-time and some stay for a long-time. There are even some who become so accustomed with the city that they end up settling here. The working class have different reasons for why they prefer to rent out first.

The first reason is being reassigned often by your job. Since, you never really stay on one place for a long time, it is just sensible that you'd just take a temporary house that you can stay in and live in for the moment. Having a temporary place makes you more flexible in terms of moving out.

Second are the fresh graduates that are finally stepping into the real world just trying on their first job. Not knowing where their next choices or jobs would take them and settling down is still a far away and vague goal in life, renting a place is not just wise but economical as well.

Three, if you're just starting out, you can try on small apartments first and then move on to a bigger one if your salary already permits that. This gives you the security of being able to live within your means. It would also give you that sense of accomplishment when you look back and remember how you went from a small studio to a one bedroom and finally to having your own place.

Renting at first can help you test the waters, look around the city, experience the lifestyle and assess your plans. This would help you make a sound decision before buying something really permanent. Renting gives you room to move out hassle-free should you change your mind.

If you fit any of the categories or situations above, then renting is a good option for you. You can get a place that would be just right for you and adjust along the way.
