PPC advertising without proper keyword research is an absolute waste of money and resources. You can easily do this kind of research which will get you well on your way to forming an efficient method for marketing. What's the purpose of keyword research? Keyword research tells you what people want to search for on the Internet. If you have a Pay per Click campaign, you can put the keywords people enter in the most into your ads. Putting the keywords wherever you can - particularly the article's headline, the text, and even the URL - will help it become more visible to these users. The more instances of these keywords your ad has, the likelier people searching for those things will come across it and go to it. There's a lot more involved in this process. While you can match the popular keywords in your ad, you have to also figure out which keywords are the most popular and efficient to put in your ad to sell the product you want to provide. A decent, basic word list can help you get on the right foot, and you can later amend it to improve its usefulness for your business. Decent keyword research will provide the possibilities, and our instincts will guide us through sifting through the keywords for the ideal word list. For example, say you are selling cars. You can go to Google Adwords and find out how many times cars or used cars or used cars for sale or used BMW for sale has been searched. You would truly want to start with a larger sample of words, but for this exercise we will use just these 4 keywords. Cars gets 151,000,000 searches a month. 151 Million! Thats a great word right? Wrong. Even though it gets the most people searching for it, bidding on the term cars would be a complete waste of money. Why? Because it could be searched for almost any reason, and is not specific enough. Especially if were selling used cars. Were getting warmer now. It isnt an awful term & gets 550,000 searches a month, but still doesnt 100% meet what were doing. Why? Because we sell used BMW cars. Do you see where were going here? This is where common sense kicks in. We need to be looking for a list of keywords that we think are relevant to what were selling. Used BMW for sale. You should continue your research by including all cities you are selling to and maybe even narrow your research more by including a model number. For example, 'used 325 bmw for sale in Los Angeles'. That would give you the most accurate information for your clientele. About the Author: Anthony Flores of www.attorneymarketingnow.com is an expert in Adwords Management and Law Firm Web Design.
