More than one year on, and the Nintendo Wii consoles are incessantly still out of stock. And now it seems that the Games for Wii are following in their footsteps in terms of continuity of supply but that's where the similarity ends. Unlike the consoles, people have other options. There are several alternative sources for the Wii video games and they're getting increasingly popular.

But first, the problem: While the Nintendo Wii Console launched with a bang, its games were always quite ordinary. That being said, recent Games for Wii releases like Wii Fit, We Ski, Blast Works and the likes do appear to offer essence along with the Wii fashion of gaming. Having made headway, they seem to have landed in supply issues too. To be sure, it's a good problem to have but a problem is a problem nevertheless.

A stock-out of Games for Wii is actually worse than that of the consoles. In the case of the games, there's a sense of letdown on the part of the gamer, having invested in the machine already whereas it's just disappointment for console stock-out as no investment as yet had been sunk. On top of that, the purchase of games are not one-off and driving around in a vain search is just plain wasteful on petrol, time and efforts.

The premium pricing of Wii video games does not help things either. The cost of the games adds up quickly as more and more of them are churned out and it doesn't look like the price of the games is coming down anytime soon. Instead of improving the affordability of the pastime with the increased volume, some of the new games actually require the purchase of add-ons and accessories such as the Balance Board in the Wii Fit package.

No wonder Wii gamers are sick and tired of paying through their noses and being repeatedly snubbed by stock-outs. The savvier ones are in fact already done with Nintendo outlets for their game supply. They turn to Wii game rentals, independent 3rd-party games, re-formatted games for other consoles and most notably membership game download services.

Download Service membership sites are found in abundance on the net these days. The top-tier providers offer free unlimited lifetime download for a one-time joining fee of little more than the standard price of a game disc. That solves the problem of disc affordability on the spot. Being retrieved online, it is also inherently stock-out proof and can be downloaded from anywhere with internet access 24/7.

Lastly, watch out for scams and pretenders in picking the right download service provider. Unless you're a multi-console gamer, choose from the pool of exclusive Wii providers as they tend to be more specialized. Other free Wii media like music, movies and TV shows must be included, along with software, tools and accessories at no charge and backed by 24/7 support and full refund guarantee.
