One of the easiest and most effective ways to make gold in World of Warcraft is to use the Auction House. Many players use the Auction House to sell things that they have farmed or gathered out in the field. This is a great way of making gold in World of Warcraft, because items often fetch higher prices when sold to other players instead of vendors. Being a skinner is a great skill to have to supplement your looting when you are gold farming. If you are farming mobs that you can skin, that just increases the amount of loot that you can pick up from each mob. Also the skins are always in demand, so they sell well. Plus, if you are gold farming in an area with a non-skinner, you can skin those corpses also and get loot without having to even kill a mob. Skinning is a great way to add to your WoW gold farming. My favorite way is to buy something off the auction house for a low price, and immediately relist and sell it for a higher price. This is, in my opinion, one of the best ways to make gold in World of Warcraft. I think it is great because, firstly, you don't need a lot of time because it takes a lot less time to look for deals on the Auction House than it does to go out and grind for gold. Also, you don't necessarily need any real money to do this. Sometimes you can just find something listed on the Auction House that is only a few silver that might sell for one gold. If you do this enough times, things can really take off, and you really only spent your initial silver pieces. If you are dithering on this question you probably have it in you to be a pretty hardcore gamer, but even then, the sheer convenience of the buy-and-get-it-now guide might overwhelm you. Personally, I have done it both ways. If you are going to use this method, look for an add-on called Auctioneer. Auctioneer will scan the auction house for low priced items, so you don't even have to spend time hunting through the category tree. Auctioneer keeps track of the average selling price of items, so you will know if something is way underpriced and can be bought low and sold high. You can even park a low level alt by the auction house with a couple of gold to run your scans and buy cheap items, so your main character doesn't have to come back from grinding or questing.
