You have a choice of two airports in Tenerife, one in the north of the island and the other at the opposite in the south. The airport you choose will depend on which resort you wish to stay in.

The vast majority of Tenerife flights from the UK and Ireland are to the south of the island to Tenerife Sur Reina Sofia Airport. For the other resorts in the northern part of the island the flights fly into Tenerife Norte airport.

For the more popular resorts in Tenerife such as Playa de Las Americas or Los Cristianos you should be looking for Tenerife flights that fly into the airport in the south of the island. Puerto de Las Cruz is the most popular destination in the north and obviously is would be better to fly into Tenerife Norte airport.

Playa de Las Americas is the most commercialized resort in the island and offers more bars, restaurants and nightlife than any other resort on the island. As a result this area tends to attract a younger visitor in comparison especially with the most popular resort in the north of the island, Puerto de La Cruz. The weather in the north of the island is not a reliable as the weather in the south and can be changeable. Puerto de La Cruz is a more popular resort with older visitors to the island who are not just looking for a tan.

The beaches in the south of the island are better than the ones in the north which is yet another reason why families choose to visit the resorts in the south of the island rather than the north. In the south of the island there is even a man made beach built with sand imported from the Sahara. Tenerife flights flying times vary from the UK depending on what part you are flying from, the average flight times vary between four to just over five hours.

The destination you pick in Tenerife will depend on the availability of flights to your chosen part of Tenerife. There are lots more flights available from airports all over the UK and Ireland to Tenerife South airport than the airport in the north of the Island. In fact you are more likely to find more than one Tenerife flight into the south of the island than one to the north such id the difference in popularity of the south of the island.

Tenerife has a massive range and choice of properties so no matter what part of the island you pick you are sure to find a great range of properties from villas, self catering apartments to five star hotels.
